Project Two

A secondary dwelling for a retired couple that were building on their acreage, they loved their tudor-styled home and so they wanted a home that was inspired by their original one. The site that was chosen was chosen for its view and access to the primary residence which their son was going to occupy with his family. So the view to have this property as a multi-generational one was at the core of what the client was wanting to achieve. The location of the secondary dwelling was chosen for its aspect however it was quite constrained by easements and boundary setbacks.

The site beside a natural stream, with beautiful trees, very secluded. But quite constrained by easements and set-backs, soit ended up being a non-rectilinear shape, together with a double adjacent carport connected by stair and a boardwalk, along with a landscape garden between. The client wanted views from the living room to the stream. They also wanted an office study nook and a large bathroom. Openspace was their style, unlike the tudor style which was closed off rooms, but more of an open feel to it was their desired look. They were built in cabinetry to showcase their collectables.
